Fun Martian Space Station PDF Print E-mail

Building a Marshmallow Martian Space Station is a fun project that uses lots of imagination and you can do it with friends. First, let's get some things that we can use: marshmallows, toothpicks or glue, large lasagna noodles, aluminum foil, tennis balls, a large tray, colorful candy, plastic wrap, lots of fun shaped pasta, magic markers, water colors, construction paper, and straws.

First make the Marshmallow Martians. Paint the Martian face with your Magic Marker onto a Marshmallow. Then do the same for their body. You can use more Marshmallow or straws for their legs. Use candy or cut up marshmallow into halves for their feet. Have your parents' help you put the Martians together using toothpicks, since toothpicks are sharp or you can use glue. Next make their space ships. Large lasagna noodles make great flying saucers. Color them with your markers. Then glue your Martian to it. For the space station itself, use a large serving tray, line it with aluminum foil to make it look shiny metallic. Add some construction paper for color. Use your imagination and add lots of out of space object like asteroids and comets around it with bright hard rock candy objects. With round objects like tennis balls build our solar system with our sun and the 9 planets around it. The nine planets in order of distance from the Sun are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The more you use your imagination the more fun you will have.
